Edmonton International Airport, Old Man Mountain with Great Mother BearOriginal produced with acrylic on canvas measuring 16 feet x 22 inches. The painting depicts Jasper National Park’s Old Man Mountain. For its installation in the Edmonton International Airport, the image was scanned and printed to a film applied to the glass wall leading into the US Customs and Border Protection area. Winterlight Festival billboard campaign 2009-2012From 2009 to 2012, the Winter Light Festival was a celebration offering a unique blend of artistic, cultural and recreation events showcasing Edmonton as a beautiful and interesting winter city. Jason Carter showcased 4 different billboards over the course of the three year festival.
Amiskwaskahegan (Beaver Hills) ParkSculptural Banners Project, 104st and Jasper Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta, installation 2013. Beaver Hills House Park received its namesake from the Cree word Amiskwaskahegan, which refers to Fort Edmonton’s proximity to the Beaver Hills, just east of present day Edmonton. South LRT Extension, Edmonton, AlbertaA total of 5 pieces of art were installed on monuments adjacent to the South LRT line at intersections on 111 Street between 57 Avenue and 29A Avenue/Saddleback Road, Edmonton. The Edmonton Arts Council worked with communities along the South LRT line and commissioned 5 pieces of original art from Jason Carter, an exciting and accomplished contemporary Aboriginal visual artist.
